Product Performance Engineer, 130000H1

Responsibilities:
As a Product Performance Engineer you will be responsible for following, identifying, evaluating, documenting and communicating market activities, trends, customer requirements, as well as dealer sales and marketing requirements.
  • Become familiar with the products and markets and travel to dealerships and locations where the product is being used.
  • Determine the scope of existing sales opportunities, documenting the voice of the customer and dealer, and work through applicable departments to effect changes.
  • Achieve practical solutions to customer and dealer needs and problems by providing accurate, up-to-date field information which you will summarize and communicate to sales groups, NPI product specialists, and sales operations and forecasting teams.
  • Participate in the collection of sales information used to set goals and to quantitatively evaluate products. All reports and documents, along with conclusions and recommendations, will be relayed to sales and other company areas.
  • Appraise sales and other management personnel of activities and/or status of sales opportunities. Your first hand experiences will be communicated to those responsible for developing solutions to sales opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain good relations with dealers and related Caterpillar groups.
  • Deliver on annual business plan for machine sales in both units and dollars, of both purpose built machines, and core products used in the business.
  • Must be able to deliver sales training to dealers, as well as participate in customer relationship management, assist in setting dealer sales strategy and planning, making recommendations for advertising and promotion activities.
Requirements:
  • High level of product knowledge capability and good mechanical aptitude and analytical ability.
  • A Forestry degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of product related and/or field experience.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as customers.
  • Work independently and create positive influence on others within the work group
